"I was helping my mom clean out her closet . . . and found this bag that was wrapped up and carefully taken care of . . . It was hand-tooled, there was lacing and braiding on it; I went 'Wow, if I could recreate this old-world craftsmanship . . . for today's woman, along with all the pockets and the things we need, but then could be made [of these] amazing leathers from all over the world, especially Italy. Wouldn't that be awesome?' So that's kind of how it started."
